I was born in 1932 and raised in New York City, mostly in Brooklyn. My sister, Jewel, was born in 1935, and died
in 2000. She was married to Don and
lived in Denver. She has a married
daughter named Candace, who has a son Tyler, now 18 years old. Our father died in 1988, and our Mom died in
January 2004. She was 94½. She was proud of her two children, four
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Skipping all the rest of the stuff in between, in 1961 I married Carol
and had three sons. David was born in
1963, Ken in 1965, and Mitch in 1968.
Like one out of every two marriages, mine fell apart in 1977 and I was
divorced in 1979. I remarried that same
year to Helen whom we call Grace. She is British-born but became a US citizen
in 1982. She is a ceramic artist and
teacher, educated in England but with an MA (1982) from the University of
Maryland, College Park. (There is a
picture of Grace and me taken a few years ago in Germany.)
David was 46 in June, 2009. He
has his BA from the University of Maryland (1985) and works as a Graphic
Designer. He lives in a condo in Silver
Spring, Maryland.
Kenneth was 44 in March, 2009.
He is married to Patti, a Canadian from Ottawa, eh? They have a son, Josh, 12 and a daughter
Rachel, 9. Josh will be starting ninth grade in September. Ken has his own business repairing and
installing floors and floor coverings.
He lives in Dayton, Maryland.
(Picture of me with Josh and Rachel is below)
Mitchell was 40 in November,
2008) and married Jolene in October 1999. Their first child, Kaitlin Sarah was
born in December 2001. They live in
Dumont, N.J., which is just across the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan
where Mitch is a Construction Manager for an international construction
company. Jolene was in the advertising
business dealing with Cable TV, but is now a full-time homemaker and
mother. Mitch was graduated from
Columbia University School of Engineering and Science with a BSME in 1990, and
Jolene is a graduate of Baruch College.
She is Chinese and was born in Hong Kong but has lived in the US since
her early teens and is a US citizen. (There is a picture below of Mitchell,
Jolene and Kaitlin taken in May, 2002.)
All three of the boys went to Paint Branch High School in Silver Spring,
Maryland.
One of the pictures below was taken in May 2002 at a Baltimore
restaurant. You can see, from left to
right: me , Ken, Patti, Mitch, Jolene and Dave.
